The Experience
Princes’ Islands Regatta™ combines professional sailing instruction with genuine team racing across Istanbul’s island waters.
All sailing yachts are privately chartered for the experience. The regatta is conducted with a fleet from the same class and matched for comparable performance, helping ensure balanced racing conditions between teams.
Each yacht carries an ideal crew of six guests, with a maximum of seven where required, and is accompanied by a professional skipper / sailing instructor.
A standard safety briefing takes place before departure, with life jackets and the required safety equipment provided. Guests are active participants rather than passengers, taking on real sailing roles involving lines and sheets, sail trim, helm, and navigation.
The programme begins with a short morning training / practice session, followed by a standard stop and included lunch on Burgazada.
After lunch, the race is staged as either a competitive or friendly regatta according to the client brief and the sailing level of the participants.
The winning team is announced at the end of every race. Where timing and season allow, the return is planned around sunset; the programme may be adapted when operational timing requires.
